Kathmandu: Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital recorded business of Rs 3.14 billion in the last fiscal year, marking steady growth in its financial performance.
The hospital’s revenue has shown a rising trend over the past few years. It generated Rs 2.51 billion in 2024, Rs 2.19 billion in 2023, Rs 2.62 billion in 2022, and Rs 2.28 billion in 2021.
Established in 2003 and operating under Kathmandu University, the institution offers a wide range of academic programs, including DM, MCh, MS, MD, MBBS, BDS, BPT, BSc Nursing, and MLT/BMLT, among others.
The company also operates three subsidiary units: Nobel Cancer Hospital, Sanebel Advanced Investment, and Nobel Hospital Pharmacy.
Currently, the hospital provides services with a capacity of 775 beds. Its average occupancy rate stood at 71 percent in the last fiscal year, slightly down from 73 percent in 2024. However, the hospital reported a 31 percent increase in overall business, largely driven by the merger of hospital and pharmacy operations.
With a 20 percent ownership stake held by Kathmandu Medical College, the hospital has secured a credit rating of Rs 5.5 billion for both long-term and short-term borrowing. This includes Rs 4.921 billion allocated for long-term loans and Rs 579 million for short-term financing. The hospital is led by Dr Sunil Sharma, a former member of parliament and a leader affiliated with the Nepali Congress.
