Kathmandu: The government has announced plans to provide tax incentives to Nepal’s information technology sector as part of a broader strategy to position the country as a regional tech hub.
While presenting the government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27, President Ram Chandra Paudel said the administration would prioritize the growth of the information technology industry and introduce supportive policies to attract investment and accelerate digital innovation.
According to the policy announcement, the government plans to offer tax incentives to IT companies in an effort to promote Nepal as an emerging technology hub.
President Paudel also said the government would implement an “Investment Express Policy” aimed at simplifying and accelerating investment approval and facilitation processes. The policy is expected to support both domestic and foreign investment in high-potential sectors, including information technology.
