Kathmandu: The government has announced a significant plan to merge the Survey and Land Revenue offices into a single integrated service provider.
While presenting the government’s annual policy and programs in Kathmandu, President Ram Chandra Paudel declared that land administration services would be streamlined through this unification and progressively expanded to all local levels across the country.
Furthermore, the President highlighted that the government will move forward with modernizing land surveying techniques and enhancing the digital record-keeping process to ensure more accurate documentation. He also emphasized that long-term measures will be sought for the sustainable management of squatters and informal settlements.
President Paudel further pledged that the government would work to maintain a balance between land ownership and land usage. He noted that safe and dignified housing solutions would be managed for landless Dalits and squatters currently residing in high-risk or unmanaged areas to resolve their settlement issues permanently.
