Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has announced a transformative plan to link its national farmer registration database with a dedicated Farmer Credit Card system.
Presenting the government’s annual policy and programs for the upcoming 2026/27 fiscal year, President Ram Chandra Paudel emphasized that this integration will be the primary mechanism for distributing state-sponsored benefits and essential services to the agricultural sector.
By utilizing these cards, the government intends to streamline the delivery of subsidies, technical assistance, and other support measures, ensuring they reach genuine farmers with greater efficiency and transparency.
This initiative marks a significant step toward digitizing the agricultural landscape and formalizing the relationship between the state and the farming community.
