Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has announced a significant boost for healthcare workers by doubling the night duty allowance for nursing staff. This initiative is designed to recognize the essential services provided by nurses during late-night shifts and to improve their overall working conditions and morale within the public health sector.
Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle shared this decision on Friday while presenting the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 during a joint session of the Federal Parliament. By increasing these benefits, the government aims to better compensate front-line medical professionals for the demanding nature of their nighttime responsibilities, marking a proactive step toward supporting the nation’s nursing workforce.
