Chitwan: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has finalized the number of representatives attending its first general convention, which is beginning Sunday. A total of 4,211 representatives are attending the event.
The representation categories are- province, international division, nomination and adjustment.
Secretary at Organization Department of the Party Secretariat, Shankar Shrestha, informed that the 33 international divisions of the party will have 170 persons to represent in the convention, while 138 have already been nominated by the party president as per statute. A total of 192 persons have been picked from among the groups of those entering the party.
Koshi Province is sending 364 representatives to the convention, Madhes Province 630 representatives, Bagmati Province 794 representatives, Lumbini Province 621 representatives, Gandaki Province 454 representatives, Karnali Province 343 representatives and Sudurpaschim Province 505 representatives.
Five others, including the municipal president, constituency president, vice president and district president, are also the representatives for the general convention. All members from the province committees, provincial department, discipline commission and officials of the advisor council are also in the list of representatives.
All central members of the federal leadership forum, 11 members each of 38 departments in the centre, 11 persons each from the central election commission, discipline commission and account commission are also participating as members.
Each rural municipality is sending one, while municipalities are sending two, sub-metropolises are sending three and metropolis four persons to the event.
There are three representatives, each from a provincial liaison department and one from the district liaison departments. Even those defeated in the House of Representatives election, 2079 BS, from the party and those included in the proportional list are the general convention representatives.
The HoR members from the party but not in the central committee are also recognized as representatives.
