Kathmandu: Abhishek Kalakheti has been declared the grand prize winner of a brand-new electric vehicle (EV) after sending money from Saudi Arabia to Nepal using the digital wallet Tiqmo through IME.
This reward was part of the “IME via Tiqmo, Win Prizes” promotional scheme, which aimed to encourage the use of digital channels for international money transfers. During a special ceremony organized on Tuesday, IME officially handed over the keys to the electric car to Abhishek’s wife, Kalpana Kalakheti, as he is currently abroad.
The prize distribution ceremony also celebrated several other winners who were selected through a transparent digital lucky draw. Yuvraj Neupane and Santosh Giri each won an electric scooter, while twelve other lucky individuals were awarded the latest iPhone 17. The prizes were jointly presented to the winners and their family members by Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Chairman of IME Group, along with representatives from Tiqmo.
Speaking at the event, IME Group Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal highlighted the significant transformation of the remittance sector, noting its evolution from traditional paper-based methods to the current high-tech digital era. He expressed his gratitude to the Nepali diaspora and encouraged those working in Saudi Arabia to continue utilizing secure digital platforms like Tiqmo to send their hard-earned money back home to their families through IME, ensuring both safety and speed.
Adding to the sentiment, Hem Raj Dhakal, Chairman of IME Limited, emphasized that the company’s promotional campaigns are designed with a primary focus on the personal and familial welfare of their clients rather than just marketing goals. He assured customers that IME remains committed to launching various beneficiary-oriented schemes in the future to add value to their services and reward loyal users for their continued trust in the brand.
The successful campaign ran from early January to late March, during which a total of 75 winners were selected for various prizes. Beyond the grand prize of a BYD Atto 3 EV, the scheme included monthly giveaways of Yadea Orvin electric scooters and weekly iPhone 17 prizes, while five participants also received a cash prize of 10,000 rupees each. Building on this momentum, IME also announced a new upcoming initiative, the “Tiqmo & Win Five Times More” campaign, which is scheduled to run from August 1 to October 31.
