Muktinath Bikas Bank extends nationwide educational support to government schools

Kathmandu: Muktinath Bikas Bank has launched a comprehensive corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at bolstering the educational sector and increasing academic access for children across Nepal.

Recognizing education as the fundamental pillar for social and economic transformation, the bank has provided significant material and financial assistance to various government schools located in multiple provinces. The support package includes a wide array of necessities such as school uniforms, backpacks, stationery, sports equipment, and modern teaching tools, all designed to create a more conducive and encouraging learning environment for students.

The bank’s outreach program prioritized government institutions, ensuring that tangible aid reached students who face financial hurdles. In the eastern region, 78 students in Biratnagar, Morang, received new school uniforms, while 200 students in Kachankawal, Jhapa, were provided with school bags.

In the Madhesh Province, the bank distributed stationery sets to 128 students in Bardibas, Mahottari, and 200 school bags to students in Rajghat, Sarlahi. Demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity, the bank also reached out to Sandhikharka in Arghakhanchi, providing bags and stationery to 25 children living with disabilities.

The distribution drive spanned from the hills to the plains, covering 50 students in Bagchauri, Udayapur; 85 in Bardaghat, Nawalparasi; and 21 in Butwal, Rupandehi. The bank also extended its support to the far-western reaches of the country, providing stationery to 150 students in Khinnebhadi, Dadeldhura, and backpacks and stationery to 110 children in Tilakpur, Kanchanpur. Beyond basic supplies, the bank demonstrated deep social empathy by collaborating with the organization Astitwa Nepal to sponsor the entire academic year’s expenses for six children who are burn survivors and belong to economically marginalized families.

In addition to individual student aid, Muktinath Bikas Bank focused on upgrading school infrastructure and extracurricular facilities. This included the donation of a digital smart board to Nepal Rastriya Secondary School in Khajura, Surkhet, to facilitate modern learning. To improve classroom comfort, four ceiling fans were installed at a school in Devdaha, Rupandehi. Furthermore, sports materials were handed over to the National Basic School in Mahottari and Siddheshwarlal Kumari Secondary School in Butwal to promote physical health and team spirit among the youth.

The bank expressed its firm belief that these contributions will play a vital role in easing the educational journey for students struggling with a lack of resources. By fostering an enthusiastic academic atmosphere, the bank expects to leave a lasting positive imprint on local schools, students, and their families. Muktinath Bikas Bank has reaffirmed its dedication to social welfare, stating that it will continue to prioritize such educational empowerment programs in the future to facilitate long-term national development.
