LRR Motors appointed as new authorized distributor for Skywell EVs in Nepal

Kathmandu: The Chinese electric vehicle brand Skywell has officially undergone a change in its authorized distribution leadership for the Nepali market.

In a significant shift within the local automotive industry, LRR Motors has taken over the dealership responsibilities from G Motors, which previously held the rights to sell and service Skywell vehicles in the country.

The decision to switch partners was initiated by the manufacturer, Jiangsu Skywell Automobile Co. Ltd., following a period of underwhelming market performance by the previous distributor. According to industry sources, the manufacturer terminated its agreement with G Motors primarily due to the company’s inability to achieve satisfactory sales targets and its failure to provide adequate after-sales support to customers. Seeking to revitalize its brand presence and improve customer satisfaction, the Chinese automaker decided to appoint LRR Motors as its new representative in Nepal.

With this transition, the management of the Skywell brand moves from Kailash Babu Gelal, the Managing Director of G Motors, to Jiban Jung Shahi, the Managing Director of LRR Motors. The change comes at a time when the brand is actively marketing two of its primary models in the region. Currently, Skywell’s lineup in Nepal includes the BE11, which is offered in two distinct variants, and the flagship ET5 model.

Under the new leadership of LRR Motors, the company is expected to focus on expanding its market share and enhancing the service infrastructure for these electric vehicle offerings.
