Kathmandu: The government has endorsed the agreement it had made with loan sharking victims and decided to render all forged documents relating to loan sharking illegal.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held in Singh Durbar today also decided to form a judicial probe committee on the self-immolation of Ganesh Nepali. The committee will be coordinated by former judge at the High Court, Keshav Prasad Bastola, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sashmit Pokharel.
As per the government decision, a judge at Tulsipur High Court, Basudev Acharya, will be assigned as the chairman of the special court, while a judge at Surkhet High Court, Dipendra Adhikari, will be assigned as the chairman of the Labour Court.
Shailesh Raj Kunwar has been appointed as an administrator of the Guthi Sansthan.
Minister Pokharel further informed the media that international flights would be provided with parking, landing and navigation for free of cost while the ground handling at 50 percent concession at the regional international airports- Pokhara and Bhairahawa. The decision, to be effective till mid-September 2028, is aimed at international flights.
Moreover, the Cabinet meeting scrapped the equity tax on education and health as per section 18 (1) of the Finance Act, 2083.
