BP Koirala Institute launches new hospital mobile app in collaboration with Midas Health Services

Dharan: BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), in collaboration with Midas Health Services, has officially launched a new hospital mobile application, marking a significant step toward the digital transformation of healthcare services in Nepal.

Through this new app, patients can book OPD tickets, schedule appointments remotely, and access laboratory reports digitally—all from their mobile phones.

A standout feature of the app is its seamless integration with the Health Insurance Board system of the Government of Nepal. This enables insured patients to verify their insurance status in real-time, automatically book OPD tickets under insurance coverage, and avail of entitled healthcare services for free.

BPKIHS stated that the launch is part of its commitment to making quality healthcare services more accessible, efficient, and technology-friendly. With this app, patients will no longer need to physically visit the hospital just to obtain tickets or collect medical reports.

Established on 18 January 1993 and operating as an autonomous health sciences university since 28 October 1998, BPKIHS has been expanding its services across eastern Nepal through its teaching district model via primary health centres, district hospitals, and zonal hospitals. The app’s launch further strengthens the institute’s commitment to promoting digital healthcare services.

According to Midas Health Services, the app offers a range of digital services, including online OPD ticket booking and payment, appointment scheduling through mobile phones, access to lab reports, and simplified insurance status verification for insured patients—making it easier to access free healthcare services under insurance coverage.

Both BPKIHS and Midas Health Services expressed their belief that this collaboration marks a major milestone in Nepal’s journey toward digital healthcare transformation.
