Kathmandu: Global IME Bank Limited and Shangri-La Development Bank Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to offer non-fund based banking services to Shangri-La Development Bank’s customers.
The agreement was signed by Global IME Bank CEO Surendra Raj Regmi and Shangri-La Development Bank CEO Suyog Shrestha.
Under the agreement, Global IME Bank will provide services such as letters of credit, bank guarantees, documents against payment, documents against acceptance, trade transaction banking, and other non-fund based facilities to Shangri-La Development Bank’s clients.
Global IME Bank has been recognized as Nepal’s Best Bank for 2024 and 2025 by Global Finance and awarded in two categories under the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024. The bank has also received multiple accolades from national and international organizations across various categories.
As Nepal’s first private commercial bank with a presence in all 77 districts, Global IME Bank operates 352 branch offices, 384 ATMs, 155 branchless banking services, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and three foreign representative offices—providing services through over 1,000 service points nationwide.
In addition to serving Nepalese citizens domestically, the bank also facilitates remittance inflows from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, and Jordan, among others.
Shangri-La Development Bank, meanwhile, serves customers across Nepal through its 109 branches and 30 ATMs.
