Underground Irrigation Project’s working area expanded


Chitwan: Working area of the Underground irrigation Project has been expanded.

As informed, the project having its working area in Chitwan, Makwanpur, and Nawalparasi (Bardghat Suista East) now has been expanded to Bara and Parsa in Terai.

According to the irrigation project chief Biswobandhu KC, the government has expanded the project’s operational area with the water crisis deepening in the Terai region.

In the current fiscal year, a target has been set to complete 24 underground irrigation projects.

In the three previous districts, 12 tube wells will be installed at a cost of Rs. 190 million, and an additional 12 tube wells will be installed in the two new districts. There is a demand for 54 tube wells in the districts.
