Kathmandu: Global social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has reached out to the Government of Nepal after authorities announced plans to ban unregistered social networks in the country.
According to Nepal’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, official correspondence was received from X’s Singapore office.
Ministry spokesperson Gajendra Thakur confirmed that an email was sent today by an official named Mark from X’s Singapore office. The communication sought details about the registration process and required documentation for compliance in Nepal.
The ministry has already responded with the necessary information and documentation requirements.
