Kathmandu: Mahalaxmi Development Bank has introduced a new scheme enabling customers to purchase tour packages through its credit cards, targeting Nepal’s upcoming festive season.
The bank announced that Nepali travellers can now buy domestic and international travel packages conveniently and securely using its credit cards, reflecting the growing trend of overseas travel during major festivals.
To implement the programme, the bank has partnered with multiple travel agencies. In the initial phase, the service will be available through Guru Travels Pvt. Ltd. (Durbar Marg) and Recent & Rhythm Tours and Travels (Uttar Dhoka, Kathmandu).
Under the agreement, credit cardholders can pay for their selected travel packages using Mahalaxmi’s credit card, with the added flexibility of converting the purchase amount into monthly installments ranging from six to twelve months.
Once the customer submits the bill for the tour package, the bank will seamlessly convert the transaction into an EMI (equated monthly installment) plan without charging any processing fee.
The bank expressed confidence that this initiative will not only encourage digital payments but also make festive celebrations more exciting and meaningful for its customers.
