Citizens Bank International hosts leadership seminar in Lumbini to drive regional excellence

Kathmandu: Citizens Bank International Limited organized a leadership seminar in Lumbini Province under the theme “Leadership for Transformation in Lumbini: A Seminar on Driving Performance and Regional Excellence.”

The programme brought together provincial heads, cluster heads, branch managers, and staff members.

The seminar was attended by the bank’s Chief Executive Officer Ganesh Raj Pokharel, Deputy CEO, and senior executives.

Discussions focused on reviewing the bank’s performance in the past fiscal year, identifying priorities for the current year, and strengthening collaboration between the central office and provincial operations.

Similar programmes had recently been held in other provinces, and this seminar in Lumbini marked a continuation of that initiative.

Citizens Bank reported strong growth by the end of FY 2081/82 (mid-July 2025), achieving double-digit increases in lending, deposits, and net interest income, while reducing cost of funds, lowering the base rate, and strengthening credit risk management.

The bank, which was recently awarded the prestigious Bank of the Year 2024 title, has also pioneered several innovative services.

These include launching Nepal’s first virtual credit card, the Citizens Fonepay Credit Card, in partnership with Fonepay; introducing a dedicated Freelancer Savings Account; enabling share applications and CRN (Customer Reference Number) services directly via mobile banking apps; and rolling out cross-bank teller services that allow customers of other banks to withdraw cash at Citizens Bank branches by scanning a teller QR code.

Citizens Bank International currently serves over 1.934 million customers nationwide through a network of 200 branches across 61 districts, along with 169 ATMs, three extension counters, and 74 branchless banking units, providing modern banking services across Nepal.
