Kathmandu: The Nepal Army has announced that 21 individuals were taken into custody on Tuesday night while attempting to loot Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Radheradhe, Bhaktapur area, and Hotel Hyatt in Boudha, taking advantage of the tense situation.
According to the Army’s Public Relations Directorate, following infiltration by various groups into the ongoing Gen Z movement—leading to vandalism of public institutions and damage to lives and property—security forces were deployed from 10 pm on Tuesday under a joint security plan involving the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police.
During the operation, 21 individuals engaged in looting at different locations were apprehended, the Army confirmed.
