Tribhuvan International Airport closed until 6 pm amid nationwide curfew

Kathmandu: Tribhuvan International Airport has been closed until 6 pm Wednesday due to ongoing unrest, airport officials confirmed.

Spokesperson Rinzi Sherpa said the decision was taken because passenger movement could not be ensured under the current circumstances.

With a nationwide curfew in effect and the Nepal Army instructing citizens to remain indoors except for essential needs, the airport has remained shut for another day.

International flights scheduled for today will be rescheduled, while planes carrying foreign passengers bound for Kathmandu have been held back in their respective countries.
