Nepal Airlines to launch first-ever direct flights from Kathmandu to Guangzhou

Kathmandu: The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation, is set to operate direct flights from Kathmandu to Guangzhou, China, for the first time.

According to spokesperson Manoj Sah, the airline has scheduled three weekly flights on the Kathmandu–Guangzhou–Kathmandu route.

“After long efforts, the corporation has finally decided to fly to a Chinese city. This will make travel easier for passengers who prefer the national flag carrier,” Sah said.

The first flight will take place on September 25, followed by the second on September 28. Additional flights are scheduled for October 16, October 19, and October 22.

From then on, regular flights to Guangzhou will operate every Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday.

Nepal Airlines has also been preparing to launch direct flights from Kathmandu to South Korea and Australia, but it has not yet obtained the necessary permissions for those destinations.

Currently, the airline operates international flights with two narrow-body and two wide-body aircraft, serving destinations such as Doha (Qatar), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Dubai (UAE), Hong Kong, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore (India), Bangkok (Thailand), Dammam (Saudi Arabia), and Narita (Japan).

The fare for the Kathmandu–Guangzhou route has been set at Rs 30,000 one-way and Rs 50,000 round-trip.
