Finance Ministry goes paperless with new digital management system

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal has begun approving all ministry comments through digital means. With the launch of the Integrated Office Management System, he has initiated the concept of a paperless ministry.

By approving files through this system, the Finance Minister officially inaugurated the Integrated Office Management System. The ministry stated that government tasks will now be carried out through a single information system in a simpler, faster, more efficient, cost-effective, transparent, and accountable manner—thus implementing the concept of a paperless government.

The system was developed by the Department of Information Technology under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and its use has been made mandatory in the Finance Ministry.

Through this Integrated Office Management System, tasks such as orders and comments, registration and dispatch of letters, attendance, approval of leave and assignments, and record management must now be completed electronically, using digital signatures.

The ministry said the implementation of this system is expected to speed up decision-making, reduce costs, ensure transparency in processes, and strengthen accountability.
