Rungta Group’s 4 companies post Rs 28.5 billion in turnover in a single year


Kathmandu: Four companies under Nepal’s Rungta Group recorded combined business transactions worth Rs 28.52 billion in a single fiscal year, highlighting the group’s growing footprint in the country’s food, feed, and agro-processing sectors.

In the last fiscal year, the four firms together generated Rs 28.52 billion in revenue, driven largely by edible oil processing, animal feed production, and rice milling.

Among them, OCB Foods and Feeds led the group with a turnover of Rs 11.93 billion. Om Kao Biro Feed Industries in Bara followed with Rs 7.11 billion, while its sister company in Morang posted revenues of Rs 7.08 billion. Om Agro Products contributed Rs 2.39 billion to the group’s total business volume.

OCB Foods and Feeds, which markets edible oils under the Divya brand, recorded close to Rs 12 billion in turnover in the last fiscal year. The company had generated Rs 4.79 billion in 2024 and Rs 8.12 billion in 2023, reflecting a sharp upward trajectory.

Established in 2016, the company processes various crude oils and operates a solvent extraction plant with an annual capacity of 120,000 metric tons, along with a refinery plant capable of refining 60,000 metric tons per year. The solvent extraction plant processes soybean seeds, while the refinery handles crude sunflower oil, palmolein, and soybean oil. These refined products are sold domestically and also exported to India.

According to the company, higher customs duties imposed by the Indian government on edible oils have boosted exports from Nepal. In the last fiscal year, OCB’s highest sales came from soybean oil, sunflower oil, palmolein oil, and by-products such as soya hipro and soya pina.

The company has obtained credit ratings totalling Rs 7.63 billion for long-term and short-term borrowing. It has six board directors, with Pradeep Kumar Rungta serving as chairman and Shiva Kumar Rungta as a director. Raw materials are sourced from countries including Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Ukraine.

Om Kao Biro Feed Industries in Bara recorded a turnover of Rs 7.11 billion in the last fiscal year, up from Rs 6.23 billion in 2024 and Rs 5.60 billion in 2023. Established in 2007, the company produces feed for poultry, fish, and other livestock.

It operates with a daily production capacity of 500 metric tons and primarily manufactures feed for broiler and layer chickens, which it sells under the Poshak Pellet Dana brand. The company has secured a credit rating of Rs 1.91 billion for long-term and short-term loans. Its products are distributed nationwide through wholesalers and retailers.

The Morang-based Om Kao Biro Feed Industries posted revenues of Rs 7.08 billion in the last fiscal year, compared to Rs 6.03 billion in 2024 and Rs 5.38 billion in 2023. Founded in 2012, the company also focuses on producing feed for poultry, fish, and other animals, with a daily production capacity of 400 metric tons. Its products are marketed under the Poshak Pellet Dana brand.

The Rungta Group-operated firm has obtained a credit rating of Rs 710 million for long-term and short-term borrowing. According to its rating report, the company sources raw materials both domestically and from abroad, importing inputs from countries such as India, China, and Thailand.

Om Agro Products recorded a turnover of Rs 2.39 billion in the last fiscal year, up from Rs 2.24 billion in 2024 and Rs 2.12 billion in 2023.

The company attributes its growth to better market prices for processed rice. With a nationwide distribution network supported by more than 80 dealers, the company has expanded its market reach across Nepal.

Established in 2005, Om Agro Products processes paddy into rice at its plant in Bara, which operates at a daily capacity of 300 metric tons. The processed rice is sold under the Pearl brand. The company has obtained a credit rating of Rs 950 million for long-term and short-term loans through the Rungta Group.
