5-star Shangrila Premier Resort and Casino planned in Jaleshwar with Rs 1.2 billion investment

Janakpurdham: A state-of-the-art five-star hotel, Shangrila Premier Resort and Casino, is set to be built in Prakauli, Jaleshwar of Mahottari district, with a total investment of Rs 1.2 billion.

The project aims to promote and develop tourism in Madhesh Province and is being developed by the Satya Group.

The resort will feature 75 luxury rooms built to international standards, an international-grade casino targeting foreign tourists, a modern banquet hall for weddings and corporate events, and a premium club. The developers say the project is designed to position the area as a high-end hospitality and entertainment destination.

According to Satya Group Managing Director Dharma Mandal, the hotel is expected to create direct employment opportunities for more than 200 local youths once it becomes operational. The project will be developed on nearly 22 kattha of land, with 70 percent of the investment financed through bank loans and the remaining 30 percent through the group’s own equity. Land acquisition and site mapping for the hotel have already been completed.

Briefing journalists in Janakpurdham on Friday, Mandal said the project is part of a long-term vision to make Janakpur, Jaleshwar, surrounding areas, and nearby border regions a major hub for tourism, accommodation, and entertainment. He added that the hotel is expected to boost commercial activity and economic growth across the region.
