Chandrapur (Rautahat): A harmony rally was held at Gaur, Rautahat Monday morning.
The rally was organized in a bid to restore peace and goodwill among the people. The security situation here was tense following clashes between two communities some days back. The District Administration Office had lifted curfew at 6:30am today.
Following the revocation of curfew, people’s daily life has turned normal. The market places, vehicular movements and educational institutions also resumed.
The peace march begun from Sabgadhaha of Gaur municipality-6 went through the thoroughfares of Gaur. It was attended by Hindu and Muslim gurus and community leaders, people’s representatives and chiefs of the security bodies in the district.
The participants in the rally advocated for the peace and harmony. Chief District Officer Dines Sagar Bhusal urged all sides concerned to maintain harmony, tolerance and social amity. He sought cooperation to keep peace and security intact.
The people are made aware not to run after false rumour and baseless information.
Earlier, the local administration had continued curfew to tame the conflict erupted between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
