Rastriya Swatantra Party secures first win in parliamentary vote

Kathmandu: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has recorded its first victory in vote counting from Nepal’s House of Representatives election held on Thursday. The result marks an early breakthrough for the relatively new political force as counting continues across the country.

According to the final vote tally announced Friday morning, RSP candidate Ranjhu Neupane (Darshana) won the seat with 15,455 votes. Her closest rival, Prabal Thapa of the Nepali Congress, secured 6,364 votes.

Rabindra Mishra of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, who had narrowly lost in the previous two elections, finished third with 3,972 votes.

The constituency had previously been held by the Nepali Congress, making the result a notable gain for the Rastriya Swatantra Party in the early stage of the national vote count.
