Kathmandu: Nepal’s stock market posted a modest gain on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, with the benchmark index inching upward. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 4.45 points to close at 2,824.90.
The slight increase follows a stronger performance in the previous trading session on Thursday, when the index had climbed by 23.87 points.
Market activity remained robust, with total turnover on Sunday exceeding Rs 14.32 billion. In comparison, trading volume on Thursday had crossed Rs 13.94 billion.
Among the listed companies traded during the session, share prices of 124 firms increased, while 130 companies saw declines. The share prices of nine companies remained unchanged by the end of the day.
