Biratnagar: A helicopter accident occurred in Khotang district in eastern Nepal when an aircraft overturned during landing, leaving one person injured while the others escaped unharmed.
The helicopter, which had flown in from Kathmandu carrying five passengers, ran into trouble as it attempted to land in Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality–2.
According to Air Dynasty, six people were on board, including the captain. The company’s senior manager, Balkrishna Pandit, confirmed that one passenger sustained injuries, while the remaining five, including the pilot, were safe.
The incident occurred in the Khartamcha Balabensi area as the helicopter approached a helipad on farmland terraces. Locals said the aircraft had already landed and was attempting to take off again to reposition when it lost control and overturned.
Although the helicopter, operating under the call sign 9N-AFQ, was damaged in the accident, there were no fatalities. Video footage from the scene shows the aircraft becoming unstable before fully settling, veering uphill and flipping over.
