Yango Ride hosts Road Safety Orientation Program in collaboration with Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police

Kathmandu: Yango Ride, part of the global company Yango Group, recently organized a Road Safety and Traffic Rules Orientation Program for bike drivers in Kathmandu to promote safe riding practices, strengthen awareness of traffic regulations, and reinforce the importance of driver and passenger safety. Yango Ride also distributed helmets and other protective gear to participating drivers as part of the initiative.

The program was organized in response to increasing road safety concerns in the Kathmandu Valley, where bike and ride-hailing drivers often face risks due to traffic negligence, speeding, and unsafe riding behaviour. The orientation session focused on educating partner drivers about traffic rules, accident prevention, responsible riding behaviour, and the importance of respecting passengers while delivering ride-hailing services.

During the program, participants were encouraged to follow traffic rules at all times to protect both drivers and passengers. They were also urged to use proper protective gear, including helmets, jackets, and trousers, to improve safety on the road. The initiative further emphasized the importance of maintaining responsible conduct towards passengers and building a more respectful and reliable mobility culture.

“Safety is our top priority, whether it is for customers or our partner drivers,” stated Santosh Pandey, Country Manager at Yango Ride in Nepal. He further added: “We are grateful to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police for their efforts in working with us towards our shared commitment to promoting a culture of road safety and responsible mobility in Nepal. With this initiative, we aim to emphasize safer riding practices, help reduce accident-related injuries, and support a safer urban transport environment for all.“

Navaraj Adhikari, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police, highlighted the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safer riding habits to reduce road accidents and improve passenger safety. He also encouraged drivers to act responsibly and respectfully while providing transportation services.

The organizers added that such initiatives also help strengthen trust between drivers and passengers, build confidence in mobility services, and reinforce the role of Yango Ride and its partners towards their safety-first approach and commitment to rider welfare and public responsibility.
