Kathmandu: Citizen Life Insurance Company Limited hosted a special felicitation and goodwill exchange programme at its central office in Thapathali, Kathmandu, to congratulate and honour its affiliated members who were elected to the House of Representatives in the 2082 general elections.
The event celebrated what the company described as the rise of its “Citizen Leaders” into national political leadership, marking a moment of pride for the organization and its wider network.
Among those recognized were Rukesh Ranjit, directly elected from Bhaktapur Constituency No. 1 representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Pramila Kuluju, elected under the proportional representation system from the same party. Both lawmakers have longstanding ties with Citizen Life, and their electoral success was highlighted as a reflection of the company’s emphasis on leadership development and personal growth.
The कार्यक्रम brought together around 60 participants, including insurance agents, branch staff, and members of the company’s senior management team. During the समारोह, the newly elected representatives were honoured with ceremonial khadas, bouquets, and certificates of appreciation, accompanied by warm wishes for a successful tenure in parliament. The atmosphere reflected both celebration and a sense of shared achievement among colleagues and supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Pramila Kuluju spoke about her journey with Citizen Life and how it played a crucial role in shaping her personality, strengthening her leadership skills, and helping her build effective teams. She noted that the experiences and lessons gained through her association with the company were instrumental in guiding her to her current position. Expressing gratitude, she acknowledged the support and encouragement she received from the Citizen Life family along the way.
Rukesh Ranjit, in his remarks, thanked the organization for its continued support and emphasized his commitment to raising key issues related to the insurance sector in parliament. He pointed specifically to challenges facing the industry, including concerns around taxation frameworks and regulatory hurdles, and assured attendees that these matters would be addressed as priorities during his tenure.
Chief Executive Officer Poshak Raj Paudel also extended his congratulations to the newly elected lawmakers, expressing confidence that their presence in parliament would contribute positively to the development of Nepal’s insurance sector. He highlighted the symbolic significance of the moment, noting that the company has long referred to its agents as “Citizen Leaders,” and that their elevation to national leadership roles gives real meaning to that title.
