Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has unveiled an ambitious roadmap to modernize the national education system by bridging the gap between academic learning and the evolving needs of the global workforce.
While presenting the government’s policy and programs for the upcoming 2026/27 fiscal year before a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Monday, President Ram Chandra Paudel emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive restructuring of the country’s universities.
This initiative aims to overhaul both the academic standards and administrative governance of higher education institutions to ensure that graduates are better equipped for the modern labour market.
As part of a significant push toward digital transformation in the classroom, the government has pledged to provide high-speed internet connectivity to 10,000 community schools across the country.
This digital expansion will be accompanied by the distribution of interactive digital content and the implementation of advanced learning systems powered by artificial intelligence.
By integrating AI-based tools into the curriculum, the state intends to create a more personalized and technologically advanced learning environment, ensuring that students in public schools have access to the same digital resources as those in the private sector.
