Kathmandu: A high-level delegation from Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by President Rabi Lamichhane, is scheduled to visit India starting Monday.
The visit follows an official invitation from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin, marking a significant step in cross-border political relations between the two neighbouring nations.
During their stay in New Delhi, Chairman Lamichhane and his delegation are scheduled to hold formal meetings with BJP National President Nitin Nabin and several other senior leaders of India’s ruling party. These discussions are expected to form the cornerstone of the visit, as both parties seek to strengthen bilateral ties at the political level.
The primary objective of the visit is to initiate formal party-to-party engagement between the RSP and the BJP. According to a statement issued by the BJP, the visit will provide a platform for both organizations to exchange views on various political aspects, including organizational practices, democratic processes, and strategies for effective people-centric political outreach.
Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, the In-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department, issued the statement officially welcoming the delegation on behalf of the party. He emphasized that the BJP looks forward to a constructive dialogue with the RSP leadership, highlighting the importance of such exchanges in fostering mutual understanding between the political entities of Nepal and India.
