Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its downward trajectory on Monday, the first trading day of the week, shedding 12.26 points to settle at 2,711.76.
This decline follows a similar trend from the previous session last Friday, where the benchmark index had dropped by 4 points.
Despite the dip in the index, the market saw a notable increase in trade volume, with the total turnover reaching Rs 4.41 billion, up from the Rs 3.87 billion recorded on Friday.
The broader market sentiment appeared bearish as the share prices of 188 companies declined, while only 73 companies saw their valuations rise, leaving 12 others unchanged by the end of the trading session.
