
Kathmandu — Nepal Manipal Education and Medical, a joint investment of Autoways Group and Batas Organization, has reported a business turnover of approximately Rs 1.85 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2025. The company had recorded a total annual revenue of Rs 1.89 billion in 2024, Rs 1.51 billion in 2023, Rs 1.10 billion in 2022, and Rs 1.71 billion in 2021.
Established in 1994 in Pokhara, the company operates a 500-bed facility offering various medical courses including MBBS and BSc Nursing. Spread across 10 hectares, the company has secured a credit rating for loans worth Rs 2.5 billion.
Autoways Group holds an 83% stake in the company, while Batas Organization owns 17%. In 2024, the company saw a 25% rise in revenue, and the 2025 figure for the first 10 months reflects a 17% growth.
Batas Group’s Involvement
In August 2021, Pokhara-based Batas Organization, in partnership with Autoways, acquired Manipal Teaching Hospital for Rs 3.23 billion. The acquisition included 40 ropani of company-owned land and an additional 160 ropani under lease. Manipal Medical College, which started operations in 1994 under India’s Manipal Education and Medical Group, continues to run on the combined 200 ropani premises.
